Banchan: Park Ji-sung Whiskey. Seriously.

• It looks like French distiller Pernod Ricard will distribute a whiskey dedicated to Manchester United’s Park Ji-sung. Said an official, “‘We expect the whiskey to appeal to fans ahead of the World Cup in South Africa in June.’” Maybe that’ll go along with the Kim Yu-na ice wine, the Michelle Yie Tee-time Tea, and the Kim Yun-jin Dharma soju. • Extra! Korea, the most quality blog to not be nominated in magazine polls, delivers the news that Little Manila has a stay of reprieve. Jongno is letting them stay on probation, considering that they change to these standardized (and likely expensive) stalls. But things may still change.
• Following the embarrassment of finding out that Korea’s sleeper hit alcoholic beverage, makgeolli, was made mostly with imported rice, the government is requiring all domestic alcohol producers to label the country of origin for their main ingredients. They will also be allowed to sell their hooch (limited, though) through the internet–for those who think the convenience store just may not be convenient enough.
