The Market First

We start in a traditional market where the stalls are lit up and the vendors are yelling prices over each other. Grab something hot off a grill, wash it down with a cold beer, and get your bearings before the real walking starts.

Jagalchi, Where the Fish Still Fights Back

From the market we head into the old section of Jagalchi Fish Market, Busan’s working seafood hub. This isn’t a display case, it’s fishermen a few hours off the boat and vendors who’ve been running these stalls for decades. Depending on what you pick, you’ll eat grilled fish or Korean-style sashimi, prepared right there by people who’ve been doing it their whole lives.

Across the Bridge, Into the Old City

Next we cross into one of Busan’s oldest districts, where the buildings and the pace both feel like they’ve been left alone for a while. It’s the kind of neighborhood you’d never find without someone who already knows it.

We end the night at a soju tent on the harbor, boats rocking a few feet away, working through local drinking dishes and pouring soju the way Koreans actually pour it. Not staged. Not a show. Just a good night by the water.
