Eun Jeong’s out of town visiting her folks.  I just had one of the best evenings I’ve had in a long time.

John Kim, SeoulPodcast listener from South America, sent me some swag, among which was the smoothest Cuban cigar I ever tasted.  Jennifer, my co-host on the podcast, gave me a Johnnie Walker Black gift set, which included a couple of nice heavy rocks glasses.

I made some ice in my weird ice tray that makes ice balls.

I’ve only recently been learning to appreciate whiskey, Scotch specifically.  The JW Black is sweet and lip smaking.  It’s candy that’ll fuck you UP!  I sucked on that cigar until the cherry started burning my fingers.  All the while watching “Harold and Kumar Go to Guantanamo.”

Snow has covered the mountain outside my window.

What can improve on such a perfect evening?

    Though I’ve never been big on cigars, I must say that the the Johnny Walker ain’t half bad… I grew up on Maker’s Mark, however, so I prefer bourbon. Speaking of the stuff… I saw the a bar in downtown Daegu (called Juliard) was selling Marker’s Mark around Christmas. I’m not sure if they still have any, and I didn’t go in to have a drink. I was actually a little shocked. I’ve been looking everywhere for Maker’s Mark, and this was the first time I had ever seen it in Korea… Wonder where they got it from…? If you ever find any, give me a holler.

    I’m sure! I think we mentioned John’s location to brag that how our listeners are all over the world. You’re right, I think he’s in Central America now.

    Pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cigar! That was sent from my childhood friend John via myself in Gangnam to you guys. He’ll be happy to see the shoutout to him, although I’m not sure he wants to be known as being from South America. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t John in Central America right now?

    But we digress. Come to Gangnam and let’s talk cigars!

    p.s. try the single malt scotches. Nothing like a peaty single malt…mmmm…

    How did you enjoy the sequel of Harold and Kumar go to white castle? Isn’t the first movie better than the sequel? or…maybe i just had high expectation.

    I think someone mentioned to me lately that the whole single malt thing was just a marketing ploy for Americans. Nonetheless, I approach all with an open mind.

    JW Black isn’t bad, but you really need to get a few glasses of Single Malt Scotch down you. Single Malts is what Whiskey is all about.

    Fuck man, johnny black is a begginners scotch.
    Sure it tastes better than american moonshine like maker’s marker, but thats not the point for someone who esposes to be a culinary sojourner mondial.

    ok, i just read that. single malt is whiskey brewed from malt from one batch in a cask for 12 years upward. like a wine.
    johnnie black is a blend of all the left over shit.
    like blended wine.
    do you savour wine from a box or a 4 liter bottle?
    probably…
