I am exhausted. It seems like people are looking to me to fix this mess, and I want to. I’m trying.

On Monday, Leia’s breathing got badly after the fight, so she went to the hospital. The doctors said she was worse than we thought and told her to stay in the hospital for three weeks.

On Tuesday, their father cancelled the meeting with us for Wednesday morning because of the seriousness of Leia’s injuries.

It was another day of chaos, and I couldn’t concentrate on classes. We were working out parts of the business, since no one was there. We decided when to start intensive courses and started setting up job advertisements for teachers.

I started hearing from the grapevine that Roberta was returning to work the next day.

Oh wait. There’s that sense of dread again.

At the news that Roberta was returning to the school, Anne said she would not come. She’d call in a sick day. She immediately started looking for other jobs and talking to me all day about what she was planning to do. She talked to Leia, Roberta, and their father about not returning.

In the midst of this, I had gotten news from Christina that her surrogate mother and a mutual friend of ours, Mama Joy, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Christina is leaving for Atlanta on Thursday to take care of her indefinitely. She came over to my house after work, where we had some pizza and discussed what she was going to do. She also gave me her bike, which just needs some repairs and a new tire.

After Christina left, I updated Eun Jeong on the local dramas happening here. I then called Roberta and asked her to come over and talk. I was hoping to get a chance to talk to her about issues regarding her emotional state. She more and more shows signs of borderline personality disorder (BPD).

When she arrived, though, and sat down in my living room, I had a hard time keeping my eyes open. The exhaustion from the drama all day had hit. We had two possible solutions for Wednesday. Each solution required that Anne and Roberta not be in the same building together. Since Anne told me definitely that she was not showing up for work, I told Roberta to show up and quietly walk out if Anne did show up.

They’re both scared of each other.

It is now Wednesday morning. I’m about to head for work. I just got a call from James that Roberta is there and Anne has not shown up.

I am still dreading the day.
