There aren’t many great American pubs south of the river, particularly near Gyodae. WinK is not only a good option, it’s worth a trip across the river. An acronym for “When in Korea,” this pub specializes in Tex-Mex, burgers, and pasta. The El Burrito stands out as being one of the few burritos in Seoul that doesn’t use cheap rice filler. It’s meat and beans. Their burgers are gourmet–try the one with the bacon jam. Some newer items include the Gorgonzola Steak Pasta, with satisfyingly thick fettuccine and medium rare steak. Another new item is the Braised House Bacon. Yes, it’s a giant chunk of pork belly that’s been cured and then braised. It’s served with a grain mustard gravy and sauerkraut. These match the selection of craft beers and the quality wines by the glass. Another unique feature is the availability of Andong soju–the REAL stuff.
Other Amenities: English menu, English spoken
