Review Summary:

This is the third review from the Stumbler/Tuttle team from Southwest Seoul. This review is based on our second visit to this restaurant, which was much like the first. Service here is adequate if not spectacular and the ambiance is nothing special—-though it is clean, bright and bustling. The restaurant is also on the smallish side, but during this time of year they add several tables on the sidewalk.

Panchan is rather standard, including pickled turnip straws, baechu kimchi and cold broth. The second serving of samjang was noticeably saltier than the first—-presumably indicating it is made on-site. Lettuce and sesame leaves are the wraps: again, standard.

The star of this meal, however, is the beef. And it is excellent in this restaurant, perfectly marbled, juicy and very tender. It is also sliced in different widths, so you can tailor each wrap.

The heat is provided by small-size coals for best heat distribution and the staff change the grill regularly to prevent too much charring.

Overall, this is a good example of a typical Korean galbi restaurant, with a consistently good dining experience. You won’t be disappointed nor go home hungry.

Other Amenities: Parking is available and restrooms are outside the restaurant one door away (past the coal furnace) and include a sink.

It is located about two small blocks southwest of the Gangseo-gu intersection, so there are lots of after-dinner choices for bars, noraebang and the like. If you ask kindly to the owner, you can leave your car there after dinner while visiting any of these places, and driver service is available
