Review Summary:

This is another corporate attempt to fluff up Korean cuisine. In some ways they succeed. The interior is romantic. The service is slightly better than other fine dining Korean restaurants. Expect the prices to jump. The trouble is that in many of these types of places, the quality doesn't jump with the price. I recommend sticking to the appetizers. The star dish is the Hanchi Carpaccio, made with arrow squid. There's just something about this dish that makes you want to nibble on it more and more. The pan-fried oysters are pleasantly plump. And the cold pork salad is tasty. The main dishes are tasty, too. But they're no different than what you'd find in mom-and-pop sikdang except, maybe, four times the price. I really don't recommend the Doenjang Charcoal Grilled Pork. It just takes the soul out of Korean cooking, arriving at the table stone cold on a pretty plate. Bistro Seoul is fine if you want to impress someone who knows nothing about Korean food and you're near COEX.
